Biography
John “Prince” Princinsky has been training in martial arts since 1995.
He began his journey by earning a black belt in Taekwondo at a relatively young age. Even in his early stages, his dedication led to him becoming a ‘Student Instructor’.
He began folkstyle and freestyle wrestling in middle school where he eventually trained with national champions and Olympic gold medalists. After high school he missed the sport so much that he spent a few seasons assisting the coaches of his old team.
After a brief hiatus he took a job coaching children, then eventually adults at an MMA gym in 2013 and grew it into a full time career. At that time he also began training in BJJ, Muay Thai, and American Boxing. As he gained experience and skills (and some gold medals in BJJ) he also took on more classes until he found himself as the Head Instructor for that school.
Beyond martial arts, he independently studied psychology, human needs, early childhood development, learning methodologies, sales, marketing & business and traveled the country to find out how the best martial arts schools in the country were operating.
From there he began to redesign many of the operations and helped turn what was a small MMA fight team into a large family-friendly academy, poised for multiple locations. He developed a curriculum tailored to stages of development and created events to educate parents and train certified instructors. The school grew and John was able to positively impact thousands of students and families.
In 2017 John began developing a system for teaching martial arts utilizing principle-centered learning methodologies paired with a process of physical skill acquisition. He has continued perfecting it since then alongside the latest available research with the hope of creating the most efficient and effective system of (mixed) martial arts.
After moving on from his position at that MMA School, John wanted to fulfill his lifelong desire of serving his community and joined the Army National Guard. He proudly chose the infantry because of his willingness to fight for our freedoms and has let his military experience shape the breadth of his teaching philosophies.
Next, he moved to work directly for the fastest growing, and largest martial arts academy in the world as a head instructor while they were franchising schools. After learning from them, he moved to work for another academy which was the headquarters for, at that time, the fastest growing martial arts affiliation in the world. Then came to North Carolina to start a family.
The goal he has for all of his students is for them to develop a growth mindset above all else. To improve their executive function. Also, to discover a healthy means for expressing themselves while relating to others with calm assertion. For them to have the practical tools for protecting their mind, body & spirit. As well as providing a means for them to develop an unshakable self-efficacy by making notable progress in areas that can only be earned by the utilization of self-discipline.
Why does he love teaching?
“It’s something I have never been bored with. It requires continual growth which allows me to constantly feel that I’m successfully fulfilled. I’ve found that the medium of which I teach has a profound degree of influence on students and families. I’m able to work within a subject that I personally love and share its benefits with others.
There is nothing better than seeing the moment where something “clicks” for them and knowing they will forever have a more opportune life ahead of them because of it.”
